Active Shooter Training

The Agency is committed in strengthening our staff’s capacity to prevent, avoid or stop an emergency.  We will be offering emergency preparedness trainings in 2017-2018.

We will offer an Active Shooter training to all staff.  ALICE (Alert, Lock-down, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate), developed after Columbine, teaches strategies to survive a life-threatening event. Supported by educators and law enforcement organizations, ALICE is quickly becoming the new standard of care across the nation.

The threat of an active shooter attack is rare but very real. As a result of this training, we hope to eradicate the “It can’t happen to me” mentality and change the way people respond to armed intruders. The ALICE Training Institute believes everyone deserve access to life-saving options and they want all Americans to have the knowledge and skills to survive when shots are fired.

With workplace violence as a rising trend across the United States, the ALICE method is not limited to preventing a school shooting. The ALICE Training provides examples for real, effective ways to thwart an active shooter. ALICE strategies are not chronological in order, but provide options for individuals to utilize in attempts to survive an emergency situation.

Registration for The Active Shooter trainings are scheduled for the following dates:

*Tuesday Oct. 10th 2017 from 9-11:30am

*Tuesday Jan. 30th from 9-11:30am

*Wed. May 9th from 9-11:30am
