Preparing Our Students for the Future
When more than 2,500 students from South Seattle and South King County were asked about their aspirations, 95 percent of them said they wanted to go to college. Our students have big dreams for their futures.
Yet, students in our region are not receiving equitable support. The same survey shows that when it comes to getting information about college, students of color, who are more likely to be first-generation students, rely more on school staff than their families.
DiscoverU is a great opportunity for schools to provide college and career information and resources during the school day to ensure equitable supports for students of color. Through engaging activities in schools and communities, students throughout the region will have opportunities to explore their futures.

Wearing college gear on Thursday, October 17 and join us in the PSESD lobby for a photo at 12:20pm. This can be any college – your college, where you have friends or family, or a school you admire.
Sharing the resources below and on the DiscoverU website with K-12 school and community organization partners. There are many ready-to-use resources and activities to use with students from K-12, even newly created elementary resources.
