Joe Hunich joined the Communications team in September, after working in the PSESD Native Ed Program for 5 years.

“When Joe started with us, I knew he was finishing his Masters Degree, and it has been inspiring to see him apply his learning to his work here at the agency, while learning a new job and taking care of his family.” says coworker Alexa Mendezona.

Recently Joe not only finished his Masters degree at UW, but Joe was also inducted into the #Husky100 – a prestigious group that recognizes the UW’s top performing students. Joe is part of one of the first Master of Communication in Communities and Networks cohorts and his success exemplifies the high value of the MCCN degree.

What does Joe’s supervisor think? “If you have had the chance to work with him, you know… he is kind, caring and talented. He has a heart for teaching, for equity, justice and really just everyone he meets. We are so honored to have him as part of our team, our communications family. Joe really worked hard these last few months and I cannot imagine a student more deserving of this recognition” said Melissa Laramie.

Cheers to you, Joe!
