Do you know a colleague who shows sensitivity and comfort in working with others who are racially or culturally different from themselves? Is this person trustworthy and have a natural affinity for supporting others? Is this colleague often approached by others for support? Is this person committed to creating an Anti-Racist Multicultural Organization and following the Principals that Guide Our Culture? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then nominate your colleague to become a Diversity Coach! If you feel you demonstrate these characteristics, you can also nominate yourself.
Diversity Coaches not only demonstrate all of these qualities, they are also dedicated to creating an agency environment where difficult experiences around racial and other aspects of cultural differences can be addressed and resolved in a manner that feels supportive for PSESD employees. This is an integral part of the creating an AntiRacist Multicultural Organization.
All coaches who are nominated and move through the selection process, will attend a two-day Diversity Coach workshop to develop skills and gain knowledge about the role of a Diversity Coach.
- Our commitment to creating an AntiRacist Multicultural Organization means that we are committed to ensuring that our Diversity Coaching staff is racially diverse and encourage people of color to nominate themselves or others.
- We also seek staff who represent all job categories and PSESD sites.
- You may nominate yourself. You can also nominate multiple people. However, we ask that you do not nominate people the same person more than once.
- Those staff members who are nominated multiple times will receive a notice to submit a Letter of Intent to show interest in becoming a Diversity Coach. Successful candidates will be asked to participate in an interview and, if selected, will attend the two-day training.
