PSESD’s own Marion Smith, Jr. our Regional Director of K-12 learning, leadership and student success is joining nearly 3,000 school systems leaders from coast to coast at the National Conference on Education in New Orleans, LA March 2-4, 2017. The annual gathering brings public education’s best thought leaders together to discuss critical issues facing our schools. Themes throughout the conference will focus on curriculum and instruction, digitizing education, equity, leadership for equity, personalizing education, principal supervision initiatives, and superintendent/school board relationships.

In addition, Marion is one of 40 education leaders being recognized for completing the first ever cohort of the AASA Urban Superintendents Academy. This program offers a dynamic approach to urban superintendent preparation to bolster the effectiveness of school district leadership in our nation’s urban areas. Congratulations Marion!
