Joel Ryan recently developed a class at the University of Washington called The Residential Parenting Program at Purdy (ECFS) 495 that focuses on our Early Head Start Site at WCCW. At the end of the class the students were required to produce a final project of their choice. One student put together a canvas painting experience for the moms and babies. It was a messy yet enjoyable experience for everyone! The student painted a quote on the canvas that reads: “Children are the anchor to a mother’s life”.
Her idea was to have the children and moms paint around the quote. The toddlers had different plans! They used paintbrushes, their hands and our littlest ones used their feet! The canvas will be displayed onsite at the EHS Childcare Center at WCCW.
