Saying Farewell to Aurora Huerta

Saying Farewell to Aurora Huerta

Dear Colleagues –

It is with bittersweet emotions that I announce the retirement of Aurora Huerta – after 23 years of service!   The nice part about retiring is that she will have lots of time to spend with her husband, who will soon join her in retirement, and her grandchildren. The bad part is how much we will miss the pleasurable experience of working with her.

Aurora has served as a Program Specialist in Special Services and Head Start prior to joining the Human Resources Department in 2007. Her contributions to the agency have been tremendous. A few worth noting:

  • Transitioning the HR department to a new HRIS system, and aligning systems and structures to support business/payroll operations;
  • Launching the agency’s first online application system;
  • Serving as the chair/co-chair of the agency’s benefits/whole health committee for over 15 years!

Her colleagues recognize Aurora for her collaborative and ‘can-do’ spirit, her integrity, and the high standards she embodies – not only in her work, but her personal life. We have benefited from Aurora’s gifts and talents.  Most of all, she has enriched our lives.

As a team we will celebrate and honor Aurora in a private gathering. You are invited and encouraged to stop by and extend your good wishes to Aurora as she starts this new chapter in her life. Her last day with the agency is May 31.
