Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day (TODASTWD) is nationally celebrated each year on the fourth Thursday of April, and this year it lands on April 26th. Based on staff feedback of multiple program events taking place during this time of the year, the TODASTWD Committee is actively planning PSESD’s sponsored event for later this year, and will announce the date soon.
For staff that are interested in bringing their child(ren) on Thursday April 26, 2018, please follow the process outlined below:
1. Check with your supervisor to confirm that your work environment is conducive to bringing your child(ren) to work.
2. Confirm with your supervisor an appropriate duration to have your child(ren) in our workspace, and return your child(ren) to school, home, etc. as appropriate and agreed upon with your supervisor. Children must be supervised by their parent/guardian/sponsor at all times.
This event exposes girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their lives does during the work day, supports the value of their education, and helps them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life. It also provides the children with an opportunity to share how they envision the future and encourages them to begin steps toward their end goals.
