July 20, 2017 Transformation Team and Cabinet Meet To Hold Each Other Accountable To Advancing Agency Work

On July 20th, Cabinet and the Transformation Team held a joint meeting to begin developing and defining their relationship. In order to implement the Racial Equity Policy, members on both groups felt it was critical that we begin defining how we will work together, make decisions and hold each other accountable to advance the work in the agency.  Facilitated by Jessica Torres of Crossroads Antiracism Organizing and Training, both groups received the opportunity to share their current roles and responsibilities and identify places of commonality and difference.

At the close of this three-hour meeting, both Cabinet and Transformation Team members agreed to form a small subcommittee to accomplish two goals:  1). To identify how the two bodies will stay accountable to each other and 2). To determine how we will call each other in when accountability as not been honored.  This subcommittee, consisting of Cabinet members John Welch, Frank Ashby, Kay Lancaster, Terese Emry, Melia LaCour (both a Transformation Team and Cabinet member) and Transformation Team members, Lori Pittman, Shariffa Sabrie, and Mathew Gulbranson will meet on September 6th and October 5th to draft these agreements.
